Atreemology ("the app," "we," "our") is a vocabulary-learning app. This policy explains, in plain language, what information the app handles. The short version: you can use the whole free app without an account and nothing leaves your device. If you choose to create an optional account, we store your email address and a backup of your progress so you can restore it on another device. We don't run analytics or advertising of any kind.
You can export a copy of your progress at any time from the Profile screen ("Export my progress"), and erase it from your device with "Reset all progress" or by clearing your browser's site data for atreemology.com.
If you tap "Sign in or create account" on the Profile screen, we ask for your email address and email you a one-time code to sign in. There is no password. When you are signed in:
This account data is held with our database and sign-in provider, Supabase, which processes it on our behalf. Sign-in emails are sent through that service. We keep your data for as long as your account exists.
Deleting your data. You can delete your account at any time from Profile, using "Delete my account". This permanently removes your email, your cloud copy of your progress, and your access to purchased packs from our servers. The progress saved on your own device is not touched. "Reset all progress" while signed in also deletes your cloud copy. If you can't use the app, email us through the contact page and we will delete the account for you.
This marketing website (the pages other than the app itself) loads one third-party resource: Google Fonts, used to display the "Baloo 2" typeface in headlines. Loading a font this way means your browser makes a request to Google's servers, which may log standard technical information such as your IP address, the same as any web request. We don't control what Google does with that request; see Google's privacy policy for details. The website does not otherwise use cookies or tracking scripts.
Root packs are paid for through Razorpay. When you buy a pack, a Razorpay payment window opens and you enter your payment details (card, UPI, net banking or wallet) directly with Razorpay; we never see or store them. Razorpay has its own privacy policy governing what it collects. We receive and store only the confirmation of the purchase: which pack, the amount, and Razorpay's order and payment reference numbers, linked to your account. This is how we unlock the pack for you and handle any refund request.
If you choose to leave a tip on Ko-fi or make the optional one-time "Supporter" purchase, that transaction is handled entirely by Ko-fi or Stripe on their own websites; clicking either link takes you off atreemology.com. We don't receive your payment details or email from those transactions. When a Supporter purchase completes, Stripe redirects your browser back to the app with a signal that the purchase happened, which the app uses to unlock a cosmetic theme by saving a flag in your browser's local storage. We have no server-side record of Supporter purchases.
Atreemology is a general-audience vocabulary app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Accounts are optional and the app asks only for an email address; if you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and revise the "last updated" date above before the change takes effect.
Questions about this policy can be sent through the contact page.
