Atreemology is a small, focused vocabulary app built on a simple idea: words aren't random, and neither is learning them. Every English word grows from somewhere (a Latin root, a Greek root, a piece of language history), and once you see that root, a dozen "new" words turn out to be words you already half-know. Atreemology helps you plant those roots and grow a vocabulary that actually sticks.
Most vocabulary apps hand you flashcards of disconnected words. That works for memorizing a definition for a day or two, but it rarely builds real vocabulary, because the words never connect to anything. Atreemology starts from the other direction: learn one root, like dict ("to speak"), and suddenly predict, dictate, and verdict aren't three things to memorize: they're one idea, applied three ways.
Vocabulary building is slow, and slow progress needs something to show for it. Every root you finish becomes a tree that stays in your forest for good, not a score that resets, not a streak that breaks and erases your sense of progress. It's meant to be something you can actually look at and recognize as real, accumulated work.
It's not a game with levels to grind or a leaderboard to chase: the learning is the point, and the growth metaphor is there to make progress visible, not to gamify it into something else. It's also not a data business: there's no ad tracking, no required account, and nothing about how you use the app is sold. Your forest lives on your device, and it's yours. If you choose to sign in, we keep only your email and a backup of your progress so you can pick it up on another device, and you can delete both at any time.
